Senior Engineering Project Manager

Boylan Consulting trades as an Engineering and Environmental Consultancy. We were established in 2006 and have offices in both Ireland and Spain. Our vision is to provide a service founded on a reputation for innovation design creativity, engineering excellence, and the provision of cost-effective solutions.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced engineering design project manager to manage an array of projects and associated staff.

About the available position:

  • Location: Mullagh, Kells, Co. Meath.
  • Salary: Negotiable.
  • Education: Third Level Engineering Qualification (Level 8 or higher).
  • Type of Position: Permanent full-time position.
  • Experience: Minimum 10+ years.

 

Duties will include:

1) Verification of both civil and structural designs.
2) Manage the design process in both Civil and Structural design projects.
3) Assist the company director with the management design teams and associated resources.
4) Form part of the senior management team, and help strategize with new emerging markets.
5) Management of numerous KPIs
6)Assist with accounts in achieving financial targets.

 

Desirable skills/attributes:

1) Charted Engineer.
2)Experience project manager
3) Good communication skills and can prioritise and manage workload effectively.

Civil Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a civil engineer with a minimum of 2 years of experience, to complement our existing design team.

Key responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have one or more of the below-listed design abilities, and with appropriate training, he/she can expand in the remaining areas:

1) Drainage design for large residential developments and similarly related projects.
2) Structural design, steel, and concrete, using Tekla Structural Designer and related software.
3) Modular construction compliance with building regulations.
4) Fire design.

 

 Duties will include:

1) Working with CAD, Civil 3D, Revit modelling, Micro Drainage / Info Drainage, and various design software.
2) Forming part of a Multidiscipline Design Team.
3) Communication with internal and external parties.
4) Helping with routine site inspections.

 

 Desirable skills/attributes:

Environmental Scientist

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our consultancy team. You will be part of a dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities & Duties:

As an Environmental Scientist, you will work on a range of environmental projects and initiatives within our organization including:

1) preparation and co-ordination of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR)

2) co-ordination and submission of planning applications

3) preparation and verification of environmental reports

4) Liaising with EPA, County Councils, and other statutory bodies

5) Managing compliance portfolios for clients

6) Assist clients with carbon footprinting, off-setting, and sustainability initiatives

 

Desirable skills/attributes:

To be considered for the role of Environmental Scientist, you will need:

1) Experience as an environmental scientist

2) Previous experience in an environmental consultancy area, preferably in environmental assessment and the statutory consent process

3) Knowledge of the Irish planning system, EIA and AA legislation, and relevant case law

4) To be a proven team player

5) Client Focused

6) The ability to meet strict deadlines and excellent technical report writing skills

7) expertise in geology/hydrology would be a distinct advantage
